The Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow Annual Therapy Conference was started in 2011 and is designed to appeal to both the beginner and experienced hand therapist.  It is recommended for occupational therapists, physical therapists, certified hand therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and physical therapy assistants.  Each year we pick a specific topic related to the hand and upper extremity and explore it from the anatomy and physiology all the way through rehabilitation principles used in order to return the patient back to normal life.  The conference is very interactive and includes lectures and labs presented by outside speakers as well as the Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow surgeons and therapists.

Every year, the therapists of Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow strive to plan a conference that is equal parts educational and fun.  Some of the unique features of our course include:

  • Interactive cadaver lab run by our board certified hand surgeons

  • Hands on splinting labs

  • Q&A Sessions and Panel Discussions

  • Opportunities to win fun prizes

  • Wine Social at the end of day 1

  • Breakfast and lunch, as well as continuous snacks, included each day

“The respect the surgeons have for therapists and willingness to take time out of their schedules to teach us is such a strong point. The organization of the course is excellent and the venue is superb.”
